Hector Santiago comes from a family of artists. His mom and brother are also Artists. Hector started drawing as a young child when he would watch his abuelo doodling animals on paper. Soon thereafter, art became his passion. It continued through elementary, junior high, high school and eventually enrolling at the University of South Florida, where he achieved a BA in Fine Arts. He also has an AS in Commercial Art/Advertising from Florida Metropolitan University in Tampa.
He has participated in various arts & craft shows as well as a community gallery in Tampa, Florida. He has experimented with various forms of art including Acrylics, Watercolors, Spray Paints, and Oils. He has extensive experience working in Digital Media using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Website Builder, and Video Editing softwares. Professionally, he has 15+ years of experience as a Graphic Artist. After nearly 30 years of living in the Tampa Bay community, Hector has relocated to the Austin, Texas area. |
Hector loves music and you can see this in many of his musical instrument paintings. He also likes to experiment with colors and various subject matter as you can see in the King Tut Painting below as well as the Horse and Lion paintings above. One of the paintings that means the most to Hector is the Homeless Child seen here.
Hector's works have been published in the San Diego Comic-Con booklet (see right) and displayed at Amelie Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning. See below with Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik.
